A Barcelona side that has yet to win a competitive game in five seasons has taken a step closer to a trophy with an emphatic 1-0 win over Sevilla on Sunday.
The Catalans have not reached the Champions League final since 2007, but they have managed to go through their first four group stage games and a quarter-final against Ajax before being eliminated by Real Madrid in the last 16 in the Champions league in 2012.
This is their first chance in the group stages of the Champions Leagues and their second in four years to qualify for the quarter-finals.
Barcelona are still looking for their first trophy since the 2010-11 season but have already seen their qualification hopes shattered by Sevilla.
Barça, who beat the Catalans 2-0 on aggregate in a Champions League semi-final last season, have won just once in their last 10 Champions League games, with only four wins in eight matches.
Sevilla, who have qualified from the group stage but are in the Europa League, lost 2-1 at home to Valencia on Tuesday and were beaten 4-0 by Olympiakos in the Copa del Rey.
They will face Barcelona in the first leg of their second leg on Thursday.
