Vivo have achieved a top-flight record in their fourth season with the Italian club, reaching the Europa League final after beating Atalanta.
The club’s first season in Serie A was a success, with the team finishing fourth and the Serie A play-offs finishing third, but the second campaign had to wait until January to qualify for the Champions League.
Vivaldi’s third season in English football was an interesting one as the club struggled with injuries and poor results in the first half of the season.
It was a season in which the club did not really have the squad to challenge for the title, and the lack of top-class talent in the squad resulted in some serious questions about the club’s future.
Vivo finished second in Serie B in 2013-14, and are now in the Europa league, but have yet to make it into the knockout stages of Europe’s elite competition.
The first season at the new stadium, Vivaldi, has not gone down well with the fans.
Viva’s fans were disappointed when they lost 2-0 to Atalantan in the quarter-finals of the Champions league, despite scoring the first goal.
They were furious when they were beaten by Inter Milan in the semi-finals, and were also very angry when they failed to win a Europa League place.
Vivalo fans are understandably angry at the club, and rightly so.
It is a difficult place to operate in, and having a football club of the calibre of Viva, with a great stadium, fantastic fans and an incredible squad, is something that fans are not easily going to take for granted.
It is a big ask for any club to survive, but Vivo are doing it and it shows that, in football terms, success is possible.
