This is a must-have in the kitchen for any aspiring foodie: a bagel-flavoured seasoning.

You know the ones: poppy seeds, garlic powder, ground cumin, lemon juice and salt.

They’re the same thing as the ingredients you can find in any supermarket bagel, but this time, it’s packed with a bit of everything: a hint of ginger, cinnamon, cayenne pepper, nutmeg and cloves.

It’s made with a combination of a blend of whole wheat flour, all-purpose flour, whole wheat pasta, wheat and oats and whole wheat pastry flour.

“We thought about what we can use and how we can create that flavour profile and we came up with this recipe,” said co-founder, chef, owner of Sweetheart Bagels, Emma White.

It has a blend with everything, from whole wheat flours, to whole wheat biscuits and even whole wheat crackers.

To give it a little kick, we’ve added some sweet potato chips and a few sprigs of rosemary to make it a bit different from any of the usual bagel toppings.

“This is what you’ll have in the future for a whole bunch of different things,” White said.

She’s already working with local farmers to bring the recipe to market in 2018.
